Hot Rod Driver Hurt in Crash

        Harold Forrest, veteran driver from Wichita, set the fastest time trial but had two collisions in one race to send to the hospital last night before the feature hot rod race held at Cejay Stadium before approximately 2,000 fans.

          Forrest crashed into the crash wall in front of the main stands first in the grandstand choice race.  After cutting a sizeable hole in the fence, he got his car started again and was able to resume the race on his warm-up turn around the oval when his car flipped throwing him out of the car against the fence.  He was taken to the hospital and later reported “out of danger”.

 

          Webmaster’s note:  It appears that it was this incident that ended Harold Forrest’s driving career.
